An antique Victorian mahogany linen press comprising a two door top cupboard sitting on a base chest of drawers. The base chest has a pair of top drawers above two wide drawers.  It sits on four tall turned feet. The top cabinet has a pair of panelled doors each carrying a turned column to its outer edge. There is an unusual horizontal half-round feature above the doors and above that, a chamfered top cornice. The cabinet has fixed shelves.

Over the years, the doors have twisted slightly but this is not particularly noticeable when they are closed. 

Multi-coat paint finish:

• Thorough preparation
• professionally spray painted inside and out
• two coats shellac based primer
• one coat water based acrylic resin undercoat
• two coats water based acrylic satin; the colour is 'Skimming Stone'
• one coat water based satin varnish.

We have fitted a mixture of new Victorian style pulls with salvage antique Victorian escutcheons. The original lock to the doors no longer works so we have fitted a push-to-open latch.

The press separates in two for transportation. The base chest section is 106.5 cm tall.
